The novel tells the story of a young man named Jack, who left his home
in Durban for Rustenburg where he met a man who greatly assisted him
in securing a job in the mine of Limpopo. As Jack possibly earned more money than he ever thought, he underwent a transformation, forgetting the promises he made to his mother and himself.
Sadly, instead of digging Platinum to send it back home, he himself is
glued to women in every corner and pub he visits. Jerome’s stubbornness
is lately weaker to Jack’s pockets that open every door without a fuss.
Mama Ncube hopes for his son’s return while Jack’s baby mom still unmoved by the kasi boys during the absence of her baby dad. There is always a thin line between abundance and greed for someone who wants to prove a point to the whole city they live in. Money and women are inseparable in Northam unless a man’s heart has been rock boated before.
Like hyenas, in spite of carbon dioxide, the hunting of lavish lifestyle from men is their main dream!
